The Houston Astros used eight-strong innings from Bud Norris to defeat the Los Angeles Angels 3 to 1 Wednesday night in Houston.

Chris Carter homered for the second consecutive game against the Angels who are now 11-22 on the season while Houston is 10-24 on the season and winners of their last two games.

Marwin Gonzalez and Jimmy Paredes would also add RBI doubles for the Astros in the win.The Astos are 2-0 since their players only meeting Sunday night after getting swept at home by the Detroit Tigers.

Norris improved his record to 4-3 on the season pitching into the ninth inning scattering nine hits before giving way to Jose Veras to get his fourth save of the season.

Josh Hamilton homered for the lone run scored by the Angels in the loss. Hamilton is only hitting .205 on the season and was lowered to fifth in the batting order after starting the season at third in the order.

Houston goes for the sweep Thursday night against the Angels before hosting the Texas Rangers Friday to start a three-game series.
