Houston Texan’s Quarterback Matt Schaub Nurses a Lower Leg Injury While His Status for Sunday’s Game is Up in the Air

The Houston Texan’s are in a spiral downward as their 38-13 loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday dropped them to 2-4 on the season.  As if matters couldn’t get any worse, their starting quarterback Matt Schaub went down late in third quarter with an apparent lower leg injury.

Head coach Gary Kubiak had this to say about Schaub’s injury, “I think Matt’s going to be an end of the week decision one way or the other. I’ll prepare both Case (Keenum) and T.J. (Yates) and we’ll go from there at the end of the week. I think Matt’s going to be the end of the week before we know anything, so I’ll prepare the other two to play.” If Schaub is unable to go, whoever coach Kubiak chooses will need to be on their game as Houston heads to Kansas City to take on the undefeated Chiefs.

Now Yates filled in for Matt Schaub (Pictured on the left) when he went down last week, but did not play well as he went 12-17 with 98 yards passing and two interceptions.  Although his competions, Case Keenum, has not seen any game time during the regular season, he has been getting much praise in practice.  With the style of offense Keenum played in at the University of Houston, and the weapons the Texans have at his disposal, he might be the better options for Gary Kubiak.

No matter who he picks, they will have a tough task on their hands come Sunday.  No one thus far has found a way to beat Andy Reid and company as they are a perfect 6-0 on the year.
