Indiana State Shuts Down Texas Tech 60-49 in the Old Spice Classic
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Jake Odum had 13 points, R.J. Mahurin added 10 and Indiana State beat Texas Tech 60-49 in the opening round of the Old Spice Classic on Thursday.
Myles Walker and Dwayne Lathan each had nine points for Indiana State (5-0), which has opened a season with five wins in a row for the first time since an 8-0 start in 2005-06.
Jordan Tolbert had 20 points for Texas Tech (3-1).
Mahurin hit a long range jumper 5 1/2 minutes into the second half as Indiana State went ahead 42-31. Mahurin added a 3-point play to make it 53-41 with just over five minutes remaining.
