Iowa State Lady Cyclones Trounce Texas Tech 66-49

The No. 17 Texas Tech Lady Raiders have fallen on hard times since starting the season 14-0 and dropped their fourth consecutive game Sunday afternoon in Ames, IA losing to the Iowa State Lady Cyclones 66-49.

The Lady Raiders (14-4, 2-4) trailed 29-23 at halftime and were plagued by poor shooting throughout the game going 15-56 from the field for a paltry 28% while Iowa State wasn’t much better at 36% shooting.

Texas Tech Forward Kierra Mallard was held to zero points and kept off the boards by the Lady Cyclone front line. Monique Smalls fouled out for Texas Tech with under 3 minutes to go and was the only Lady Raider in in double figures scoring with 13 points. Iowa State was led in scoring by Hallie Christofferson with 19 points off the bench.

Texas Tech is on the road again this next Wednesday at Kansas.
