The Jacksonville Jaguars will soon be hiring a new coach.

Jack Del Rio was fired from the head coach position with the Jaguars in the midst of his ninth season with the team. He became head coach for Jacksonville in 2003.

Following a lagging season, and being eliminated from a chance in the playoffs with their 20-13 loss to the Texans on Sunday, Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver dismissed Del Rio. During Del Rio’s entire tenure with Jacksonville, the Jaguars failed to win the AFC South.

The season continues for Jacksonville on Monday, when they will face off against San Diego.

Del Rio departs the Jaguars with a 69-73 record.
