James Shields and Tampa Bay Rays Shutdown Texas Rangers 4-1 Wednesday Night

James Shields pitched eight shutout innings while Johnny Damon homered with a solo shot for the Tampa Bay Rays in a 4-1 victory over Texas Rangers Wednesday night in Arlington.

Shields (13-10) allowed four hits, walked one and struck out seven. Kyle Farnsworth finished off the Rangers for Tampa Bay's 10th win in 15 tries.

David Murphy broke up the shutout in the ninth inning with an RBI-single to give Texas their lone run.
