Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was sentenced Friday night and found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child sex abuse.

Sandusky faces somewhere in the range of 442 years in prison after the guilty verdict came down. Judge John Cleland will sentence him at a later date, but according to all indications he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

“Essentially Jerry will receive a life sentence.” lead defense attorney Joe Amendola said during his post verdict comments to the media.

The jury deliberated for about 20 hours after a trial that stretched across eight days.

It’s one of those moments is history to me that I will remember exactly where I was at when the news broke, similar to the OJ chase, 9/11, Bin Laden’s death and the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.
