Joey Chestnut dominates hot dog eating like no one else in the history of the event. By winning the 2012 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, Chestnut secured his 6th straight win, eating 68 hot dogs.

This is the first time, and hopefully the last time we will do this on 1340thefan.com, but it is time to do some math. With the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest being exactly 10 minutes in length, that is 600 seconds, Chestnut downed a hot dog every 8.8 seconds for ten straight minutes.

Something to think about to feel less guilty about the feast that you most likely consumed over the holiday, is how many calories consumed in that 10 minute span. According to CalorieCount.com, Each Nathan's Hot Dog has 307 Calories, and each bun has around 84, add those together and we come to a nice total of 391 calories. Multiply that by 68, and we learn that Joey Chestnut consumed 26,588 calories worth of hot dogs. Suddenly the three burgers, 4 hot dogs and the 12 pack of lite beer doesn't seem so bad.

If you don't believe its possible to eat 68 hot dogs in 10 minutes, check out the video. Warning though, it is disgusting to watch.
