The Mike Leach defamation lawsuit against Craig James, Spaeth Communications, and ESPN was dismissed on Wednesday in a letter ruling.

The one-page letter ruling from Judge Bill Sowder of the 99th District Court said,

The Court grants each of the Defendant’s Motions for Summary Judgement.

The defamation suit was filed in November of 2010 for Leach to "set the record straight" after his firing on December 30, 2009 for allegedly mistreating then Sophomore tight-end Adam James, son of Craig James.

Leach's suit against Texas Tech University for violating his due process rights were dismissed by Judge Sowder in February of this year.

Leach will enter his second season as Head Coach of the Washington State Cougars after finishing 3-9 last season in his debut with the Cougars.
