Monday afternoon, Texas Tech Football head coach Kliff Kingsbury addressed the media in Dallas during Big 12 Media Days.

The Red Raiders head coach was optimistic as Texas Tech looks to bounce back from a tough 2014 season in which Texas Tech missed out on qualifying for a bowl game.

Concerning the competition for starting quarterback between Davis Webb and Pat Mahomes, Kingsbury said, "I'm planning on naming a starter fairly early in camp and trying to develop that chemistry with the first team and second team. Now, if somebody falters early on, we do feel that we have two guys that can win games. So that's a luxury we haven't had."

Texas Tech opens up the 2015 season by hosting Sam Houston State, September 5th at 2:30pm at Jones AT&T Stadium. Countdown to Kickoff on SportsRadio 1340 The Fan & 1340TheFan.com starts at 11:30am on the 5th.
