Kelsi Baker led Texas Tech (1-0) in scoring with 12 points off the bench as the Lady Raiders cruised past the New Mexico Lady Lobos (0-1) 69-43 in Lubbock, Texas Friday night.

Three other Lady Raiders scored in double figures as Kierra Mallard and Monique Smalls scored 11 points and Casey Morris added 10 points in the 2011-2012 season opener for both teams. Caroline Durbin led New Mexico with 17 points.

Texas Tech raced out to a commanding 33-17 lead at halftime and never looked back as the Lady Raiders have now defeated New Mexico handily in consecutive season openers for both teams and now improve to 13-2 all time against the Lady Lobos program.

Texas Tech returns to hardwood Wednesday night at 7 p.m. on the road against the University of Houston.
