LCU Holds Off Wayland 10-7 Monday Night

No. 16 LCU Baseball defeated Wayland Baptist Monday night 10-7. The Chaps lead 10-2 entering the 8^th Inning and staved off a 5 run Pioneer rally.

Mike Marshall went 7 innings giving up 4 runs while striking out 18 for LCU while Chandler Griffin went 2 for 5 with 5 RBI. Alex Quinones took the loss for Wayland going only 3 1/3 innings giving up 6 runs, 5 of them being earned.

LCU returns to the diamond Friday for a double header at University of Sciences & Arts of Oklahoma in Chicasha. LCU is 32-9 overall and 12-7 in the SAC. Wayland Baptist falls to 20-22 and 6-13 in the conference. Wayland takes to the field again today hosting Eastern New Mexico at noon.
