Both the LCU Chap and Lady Chap basketball teams will return to action tonight as they’ll play host to Northwestern Oklahoma State University, in a double header, from the Rip Griffin Center. The Lady Chaps will play in the first game of the double header at 6, with the Chaps playing as soon as their game concludes.

The Lady Chaps enter the game at 10-6 on the season and 7-3 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. LCU also comes in the game with a big win under their belt as they upset 19th ranked John Brown University 63-52 this past Saturday. With a win tonight, the Lady Chaps can move into at least a share of 3rd place in the Sooner Athletic Conference with a possibility of sitting in 3rd place alone if John Brown University beats Southern Nazarene.

The LCU Chaps enter their ball game tonight, at 8, 11-5 on the season and 6-4 in SAC play. They are a quality team at home though, as they sit at 7-1 on the season from the confines of the Rip Griffin Center. Tonight’s game will be the 21st meeting between the two schools with LCU leading the all-time series 11-9. The Chaps won both games against the Rangers last season and look to reclaim that same magic tonight.

History could be made tonight in the Chaps game with the Rangers. Senior Kenny Hewitt (right) enters the game as the 3rd leading scorer in LCU history with 1,587 points, and he has a serious chance of surpassing both 2nd and 1st place tonight. Hewitt trails Brandon Jones by only 12 points, for second place, and James Omondi by 28 points for the all time lead. Hewitt should easily claim second place tonight as he averages 16.3ppg, for the season.
