LCU Softball Drops Game One of NAIA National Championship
The 7th ranked Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparral softball team began bracket play Monday morning in the eight-team double elimination tournament of the 2011 NAIA National Championship.

LCU opened up play against the 18th ranked Oregon Institute of Technology and fell by a final score of 7 to 1. The loss to OIT placed the Lady Chaps in an elimination game against William Carry of the Southern States Athletic Conference. WCU went 53 and 6 on the season, and went 3 and 0 in pool play without allowing a run. William Carry pitcher Anna Ard has four no hitters on the season, and allowed just six hits in three pool play games.
