No. 5 LCU Baseball scored three runs in the final three innings to rally past St. Gregory’s for a 3-1 win yesterday. The win was on the first day of pool play in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Chaps were led by starting pitcher Jack Mabe retiring 15 hitters in a row. Mabe gave up a run on five hits in 8 2/3 innings pitched. Mabe walked a batter and hit another before giving way to Monty McCasland to close out the game in the 9th.

LCU got on the board in the 6th inning pushing across two runs to take a 2-1 lead then driving in another run in the eighth inning for insurance for a 3-1 lead.

LCU will face I-27 rival Wayland Baptist today at 2 p.m.
