Lubbock Code Enforcement officers will be inspecting weeds violations on Tuesday, September 18.

Officers will be giving out tickets to property owners who has uncultivated vegetation over 8 inches high. Property owners have one week to mow their property after they receive a citation.

Property owners have to mow from the front curb of their property to the middle of their alley. If the property owner does not mow their property, the Codes Department will use a private contractor to mow the property, and the owner will be charged the cost of the mowing, plus a $150 administration charge.

If that charge goes unpaid, you can have a lien placed on your property.

If you have unkempt yards in your neighborhood, you can call 311 or 775-3000 and submit a report. You can also call the Weeds Hotline at 775-2290, leave an address and the Code Enforcement officers will check out the complaint.
