Lubbock-Con to Host Screening of ‘Flash Gordon’ at Alamo Drafthouse

Flash! aaa-AAAA! He'll save every one of us!

Flash Gordon, for those of you who don't already know, is an epic 1980s rock opera. It's campy, it's silly and it's really fun. Oh, and the soundtrack is QUEEN.

This song gets me all riled up. And the video will give you a sense of what you're in for when you watch this movie. He's just a maaannn, with a maaann's courage.

Lubbock Alamo Drafthouse will have a special screening of Flash Gordon this Saturday, November 12 at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are available at their official website.

Proceeds benefit the absolute treasure that is our very own Lubbock-Con, which is not only a yearly comic/cosplay/fandom in general convention, but also an organization that brings us year-round classes, events and fun.

There will also be a pop-up art show in the lobby of Alamo Drafthouse before and after the screening featuring art inspired by the epic-ness that is Flash Gordon.
