[Update] Saturday morning (July 8), the Lubbock Police Department confirmed it had apprehended 16-year-old Christopher Lee Hernandez, who was wanted for a murder that took place on the 4th of July.

Police received information that Hernandez was possibly near east 8th Street and Oak Avenue. According to police, they didn't find Hernandez there, but did locate four other individuals with outstanding warrants.Those four were arrested, and more information led officers to East 7th Street and Beech Avenue. That's where they found and arrested Hernandez. He was taken into custody just before 1 a.m.

Below is information on the four other individuals who were arrested:

  • Korinna Castro (26) - Three outstanding misdemeanor warrants
  • Briana Mendoza (23) - Two outstanding misdemeanor warrants
  • Joe Gonzales (19) - Two outstanding misdemeanor warrants
  • Gomesindo Perez (18) - One outstanding misdemeanor warrant and Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution

[Original Story] Friday evening, Lubbock Police announced a manhunt for a 16-year-old murder suspect.

Christopher Lee Hernandez (pictured) is wanted in the shooting death of 18-year-old Ezekial Gonzales. Gonzales was shot multiple times at a house party near 48th Street and Avenue U on July 4th.

According to LPD, the 16-year-old Hernandez is considered a danger to the public, and the department received a juvenile court order to allow for the release of his name.

Hernandez has been charged with First Degree Murder and he is considered Armed and Dangerous and an Escape Risk.

According to LPD, Hernandez may also go by the name Christopher Hernandez-Constancio, or the nickname "Bhris." He is 5'8" in height, weighs about 128 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Christopher Lee Hernandez are urged to call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000. Callers who submit Crime Line tips may remain anonymous and may also be eligible for a $1,000 reward for information that leads to Hernandez's arrest.
