According to a recent study, Lubbock has the third highest property crime rate among midsize cities in the west.

The study was released by Quotes.Safeco.com under Homeinsurance.com.

The website used data from the FBI’s Crime Report to determine which midsize cities fell into the top 10 highest and lowest property crime rates. Offenses that fall into the category of property crime include burglary, larceny-theft and motor vehicle theft.

The overall score for Lubbock was 797.41, with the crimes rates being calculated from 2015.

The Hub City has 509 burglaries per 100,000 citizens, 1,711 larcenies per 100,000 citizens, and 172 motor vehicle thefts per 100,000.

Abilene ranked no. 6 on the list, and Amarillo ranked no. 8. Pueblo, Colorado came in at no. 1 for the highest property crime rates in midsize western cities.
