Texas Tech Lady Raider senior forward Kierra Mallard was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week for week 4. The Big 12 Conference made the announcement Monday.

Mallard averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds in the Lady Raiders two wins last week over Texas State and No. 16/15 Penn State. She pulled in a season-high 15 rebounds in the 70-66 win over the Lady Lions.

Her 18 points and 15 rebounds against Penn State was her third double-double of the season and 19th of her career.

She has led Texas Tech in points in three of seven games this season, and has led in rebounds in all but two.

It was the first honor for Mallard this season, and second overall, as she received the award once last season following the Lady Raiders win over No. 1 Baylor.

The Lady Raiders moved up to No. 16 in The Associated Press Poll on Monday as well. Tech is off to a 7-0 start for only the third time under head coach Kristy Curry.

Texas Tech will return to action Wednesday from home with a 7 p.m. contest against UT-Arlington.
