One of the most popular Football clubs in the world will be offering an IPO in the United States soon, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Manchester United, a member of the English Premier League, is gearing up for a future IPO to be underwritten by a group of banks including JP Morgan Chase.

The football club is one of the most successful professional teams in the world and setting its sights on a U.S. IPO after calling off their plans for a $1 billion Singapore public offering late in 2011.

United is owned by the Glazer Family which also own the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. The club was established in 1878 and changed its name officially to Manchester United in 1902.
