The Texas Rangers newly acquired Matt Garza made a very impressive first impression on his new team.  He faced off against the New York Yankees as he was able to go 7 1/3 innings giving up no earned runs and surrendered just five hits as the Rangers beat the Yankees 3-1.  Garza (Pictured on the Left) was 6-1 in his 11 starts this season for the Chicago Cubs before being traded to the Rangers on Monday.  He was 5-0 with a 1.24 ERA his last six starts for Chicago, winning the last five.

A.J. Pierzynski led the offense last night as he drove in two runs for Texas, including a tie breaking solo homer in the bottom of the sixth off of New York's starter Andy Pettitte.  David Murphy also homered in the win.

With the win, the Rangers will look to take three of four games as they play game four today.  First pitch is set for 1:05 pm from the Ball Park in Arlington and can be seen on FOX Sports SW.
