Jaye Crocket came off the bench to lead the Texas Tech Red Raiders in scoring with 12 points and 9 rebounds as they defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders 61-54 in Corpus Christi's American Bank Center in front of 2,719 fans in attendance.

The Islanders (1-4) dropped their third game of the season to a Big 12 Conference opponent as they lost to Oklahoma State 71-39 and No. 25 Texas A&M 56-43 earlier this season. Texas Tech (4-3) snapped a three game losing streak with the victory.

Texas Tech shot 46% from the field and struggled from the free throw line going 13-20. Crocket was the only Red Raider in double figures. Javarez Willis and Toddrick Gotcher both followed with 9 points for Tech. The Islanders were led by Terence Jones who dropped in 26 points.

Texas Tech will next face TCU December 6th in Fort Worth.
