The Miami Dolphins have stepped up to the plate and will appear on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” this summer.

HBO made the announcement Tuesday.

The seventh season premiers Aug. 7th, with four more one-hour episodes airing on subsequent Tuesdays. The Dolphins are an interesting choice coming off a 6-10 season, and with a new head coach in Joe Philbin.

Miami is also entering the franchises 40th anniversary of the only perfect season in NFL History with a rookie quarterback as the team selected Texas A&M stand-out Ryan Tannehill with the No. 8 overall pick in April’s draft.

Tannehill is expected to compete with incumbent starter Matt Moore and veteran addition David Garrard for the Dolphins starting job.

“Hard Knocks” was not produced last season due to the lockout. The year prior Miami’s AFC East rivals the New York Jets were the subject of the show.
