The No. 10 Texas Tech men’s indoor track and field team and No. 22 Women’s team head into the NCAA National Indoor Meet in Fayetteville, Ark. with a litany of award winning qualifiers.

The men have five individuals competing in the meet, including the nation’s top high jumper and Mountain Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year JaCorian Duffield.

Fifth-rated high jumper Bradley  Adkins will join Duffield in the field as well.

Big 12 60-meter hurdle champion Chris Caldwell, who ran a season-best 7.73 at the Big 12 Championships, will compete in Fayetteville.

Shot putter Kole Weldon, ranked number 15 in the nation, and no. 6 ranked long jumper  Keniel Grant will compete individually.

The No. 9 4 x400 relay team of Kyle Collins, Steven Champlin, C.J. Jones and oseph Richards III, with alternate Darien Tennon, will  run for the championship.

USTFCCCA Mountain Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year Cierra White qualified for the national meet by setting a  school record time of 22.98 seconds to win the Big 12 200-meter title.

White and Le’Tristan Pledger, who finished second in the conference with a time of 8.11 seconds, will compete in the 60-meter event.

Shanice Stewart qualified in both the pentathlon and long jump. Stewart finished third in both events in the Buig 12 Championships.

The Red Raider athletes will be lead by USTFCCCA Mo+untain Region Men’s Coach of the Year Wes Kittley. Kittley has been at the helm of the Tech program for 16 years.

Dion Miller was named the Moutain Region Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year.

The national meet is scheduled for March 13-14 at the Randal Tyson Center in Fayetteville.
