NBC Sports won the bidding rights for the American television rights for the English Premier League this year and they released their first promo video for their coverage on Monday. (HT EPL TALK)

NBC will broadcast every game of every team in the Premiership in the United States across its platform of NBC, NBC Sports Network, and online at NBC Sports Live Extra.

Fans of the Premiership will benefit from this commitment for the American audience which is growing with each passing year.

The number of games is subject to change, but here is the rundown from NBC on the number of televised games on their platform of networks.

NBC20
NBC Sports Network154
Premier League Extra Time184
Telemundo and Mun 276
NBC Universal Channels22
NBC Sports Live Extra380

The start times for the Premiership games in America will also be conducive for maximum exposure.

NBC will air games on Sundays starting at 12:30 p.m. ET while NBC Sports Network, Telemundo, and other networks on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.

As a fan of the EPL I am excited for the chance to not just watch my favorite team, Manchester United, but to see every team if I so desire. This will help soccer in the United States expand and the upcoming 2014 World Cup in Brazil will only generate more exposure for soccer in general, with or without success for the United States Men’s National Team.

The commitment from NBC for this multi-year deal should give the hardcore fans and casual fans of soccer a good home for years to come and set the standard for how “The Beautiful Game” is broadcast in America.
