University of Nebraska head football coach Bo Pelini left the Cornhuskers game in an ambulance during the third quarter of his team’s game against Arkansas State Saturday.

Pelini was seen on the sidelines having his pulse checked by doctors. He would remain in the locker room following halftime to be checked further.

Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne issued statement following the game saying coach Pelini is “doing fine.”

Osborne declined to comment further on the nature of Pelini's symptoms, but rather said it was serious enough that the medical staff thought Pelini needed to be checked out at the hospital.

Defensive coordinator John Papuchis has taken over head-coaching duties in his absence.

Nebraska won the game 42-13.
