The Texas Rangers lost to the New York Yankees last night to lose the series, 12-4.

The Yankees big scores were due in large part to home runs again. 9 of the Yankees runs were off home runs, most notably former Ranger Mark Texeira who had 2 2 run home runs one batting right and one batting left.

The game didn’t start like a blow out like the 1st game of the series.

The Rangers bats were going well early in the game as the Rangers were up 4-3 after 3 innings, but the Rangers bats eventually cooled while the Yankees bats only got hotter. The Yankees would the go one to score 8 unanswered runs over the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th.

Neither starting pitcher got past the 6th inning as Derek Holland was taken out after the 5th when he got up to over 100 pitches on 6 runs on 7 hits. While was taken out after Ivan Nova went 5 2/3rd innings on 4 runs on 7 hits. So the Rangers bullpen had to step up and it was once again proven to be the Achilles hee as Mark Lowe and Neftali Feliz both gave up 3 runs to make a comeback impossible. While the Yankees relievers held the rangers scoreless.

Michael Young once again got a hit in the Yankees new stadium making it now 17 straight games that Young has hit safely in the Bronx. This is tied for the 3rd longest streak in 75 years.
