Ryan Dempster hung one over the plate, and Nick Swisher capitalized, hitting his second grand slam of the season. The grand slam also pushed the New York Yankees from a 2-0 deficit, to ultimately an 8-2 victory over the Texas Rangers. One the night, Nick Swisher drove in five runs in support of David Phelps, starting in place of the injured CC. Sabathia.

The most memorable play for the Rangers came from David Murphy, who launched a 400 ft homer to right center. Nelson Cruz was responsible for the Rangers other run, hitting an RBI single. The unfortunate thing for the Rangers was that this game may have been a confidence killer for Dempster. Granted he was not pitching a world beater, he was doing all right when Swisher came to bat, and with one swing of the bat, the Yankees are up 4-2.

The Rangers starting pitching has got to improve, but now really is not the time to panic. The Rangers are 8-4 in the month of August. If they can continue this trend, they should have no problems making the playoffs.
