Texas Tech Lady Raider Basketball faced off against No. 1 Baylor Saturday night in Waco and fell short 56-51. The Lady Raiders led 35-30 at halftime, but went cold in the second half scoring only 16 points and losing their lead and ultimately the game.

Monique Smalls scored 13 points leading the Lady Raiders while Kierra Mallard chipped 10 as Texas Tech (17-9, 5-9 Big 12) dropped its second consecutive game of the week while Baylor (27-0, 14-0) remains undefeated on the season with now a share of the Big 12 Conference title. The Bears were led by Brittany Griner with 18 points and 14 rebounds and Destiny Williams added 16 points.

Texas Tech shot 6 of 22 in the second half and only 34.7% for the game as they shot at 50% in the first half holding a 35-30 lead. Baylor's shooting wasn't much better at 35% for the game. Tech was hurt by 20 turnovers in the game. Texas Tech will next host Kansas Tuesday night in Lubbock.
