The No. 1 Baylor Lady Bears raced out to a 40-16 halftime lead and never looked back in their 72-48 drubbing of ninth place Texas Tech Thursday afternoon. Texas Tech (19-13) played the night before defeating the Texas Lady Longhorns 81-58 in the First Round of the Big 12 Women's Tournament in Kansas City, MO.

Odyssey Sims led Baylor (32-0) with 18 points and Brittany Griner added in 15 points for the presumed number one overall seed in the upcoming NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. Texas Tech was led by Monique Smalls with 11 points as the only Lady Raider in double figures. Texas Tech looks likely to miss the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in six seasons.

The Lady Bears won two games earlier this season against the Lady Raiders with two physical, hard fought games where Baylor prevailed with single digit victory margins. The third edition of this game was close for the first few minutes of the contest until the poor shooting of Texas Tech caught up with their poor defensive performance.

The Lady Bears will face Kansas State Friday in the Semi-finals of the tournament.
