Tech and UNM meet for the 109th time Tuesday. Tech leads the all-time series, 65-42-1 dating back to 1962.

The contest will mark the 18th straight season in which the Red Raiders and Lobos will meet. Tech has won the last two meetings in Lubbock, including a 9-3 victory last season, and defeated the Lobos in three of the last four meetings.

New Mexico is playing its eighth straight game against a ranked opponent while going 1-6 in those contests.

Despite hitting .176 in the Big 12 Conference opening series against Oklahoma, Tech leads the league with a .297 average, 223 hits and 49 doubles.

A bright spot for Tim Tadlock’s club is the bullpen. Tech relievers come into the midweek game  sporting an 8-2 record with six saves, and a 2.82 ERA. Six Red Raider Relievers have an ERA under 2.00, including Corey Taylor and his conference-best 0.00 ERA in ten appearances.
