The 4th ranked Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps fell to 16th ranked Southern Nazerene 81-73 on Day 2 of the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament in Siloam Springs, AR Friday afternoon. The LCU Lady Chaps have never defeated SNU in tournament play with a record of 0-6 and this is the second consecutive season that LCU swept the season series, but lost in the tournament.

The Lady Chaps shot 28.6% (8/28) in the half in the first half, but were spurred on with 10-0 run to take a 23-16 lead with 4:46 left in the half. SNU scored seven of the next 11 points to tie the game at 27-27 before a pair of free-throws by Nicole Hampton allowed LCU to take a 29-27 halftime lead.

SNU would get hot shooting the ball going 70.4% from the field and taking a lead in the game on a 15-3 run in the second half. LCU was able to pull within four at 75-71 with 58-seconds remaining, but could not close the gap falling 81-73.

The Lady Chaps will now wait for high seed in the NAIA National Championship tournament field. The pairings will be announced March 7th and LCU will be an at-large bid for a ninth consecutive season.  The tournament moves to Frankfort, Ky. for a first time and it gets underway Mar. 14 at Frankfort Convention Center.
