Tuesday afternoon, the Houston Astros announced that Nolan Ryan (pictured, left) has rejoined the team in a front office role.  Ryan, MLB's all-time leader in strikeouts, pitched for the Astros from 1980-88 and worked for the team in an advisory role from 2004-08. Last year, Ryan's son, Reid (pictured, right), was named president of the Astros.

The elder Ryan will officially serve as an executive advisor to owner Jim Crane.  In January, he told MLB.com, "I think to have an opportunity to work with Reid and what is an organization that is headed in the right direction and has turned the corner and the potential they have, to be involved in that would be fun and be exciting."

Before rejoining the Astros, Nolan Ryan worked for the Texas Rangers in a variety of roles, including CEO from 2008-2013.
