The Oakland Athletics beat the Texas Rangers 3-1.  Oakland pitcher, Travis Blackley gave up three hits, struck out five and allowed an RBI double to the Rangers Josh Hamilton over six innings to lead the Athletics to victory.

Texas pitcher, Matt Harrison took the loss for the Rangers, he now has (18-11) record.  Michael Young was the top Ranger performer with two hits in the game.

With the win, the Athletics moved into a first place tie in the AL West with Texas.

The two teams are back at it this afternoon in the last game of the season. On the mound for the Rangers is Ryan Dempster while the Athletics will counter with A.J. Griffin, first pitch is at 2:30 PM.  The winner of this afternoon's game will clinch the AL West Crown.
