Osama Bin Laden Burial at Sea Carrier, USS Carl Vinson, to Host Michigan State Vs. North Carolina

It is all but guaranteed that the USS Carl Vinson will host basketball powerhouses Michigan State and North Carolina on veteran’s day. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because the USS Carl Vinson is the carrier that gave Osama Bin Laden his burial at sea.

The game will be played on the flight deck with a court and stadium on deck with room for about 7000 fans. This will be the 1st NCAA game ever played on a flat top.

Mike Whalen of the Morale Entertainment Foundation had this to say:

“Now that the Carl Vinson is back safe and sound and America is now well-aware of the important mission that was tasked to the Carl Vinson, we find it to be a source of pride that this ship will make history twice in 2011.” -AP

In the case of rain the game will be moved downstairs to the hangar deck.
