It took nine innings for the Houston Astros (19-10) offense to get involved in Thursday night's game at the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (13-16), but the Astros prevailed 3-2.

Going into the top of the ninth inning, the Angels had a 2-0 lead over the Astros. The Angels brought in closer Houston Street to wrap up the game.  However, Street's outing got off on a bad foot as Colby Rasmus led off the ninth with a single to right field.

Chris Carter came up next and he singled, advancing Rasmus to second base. Carter was replace by Robbie Grossman who has been used as a pinch runner a number of times this season.

After a Jason Castro fly out, Jake Marisnick (pictured) singled to left scoring Rasmus. Then Preston Tucker picked up his first major league hit, a single to right, scoring Grossman to tie the game at 2. Tucker advanced to second base, and Marisnick advanced to third base on the throw to home plate.

So, with runners at second and third, Jonathan Villar walked to load the bases.

Jose Altuve came up next and hit a grounder to the second baseman, Johnny Giavotella. Giavotella was able to get the force as second but Altuve beat out the throw to first and Marisnick scored the go-ahead run to put the Astros up 3-2.

Luke Gregerson pitched a scoreless ninth for the Astros to earn his seventh save and Pat Neshek improved his record to (3-0).

Street's blown save was his second of the season and his record dropped to (2-1) with the loss.

Thursday's game was Preston Tucker's MLB debut. Tucker was called up from AAA Fresno to replace George Springer who was placed on the 7-day disabled list.

The Astros and Angels play again Friday night at 9 o'clock.  Coverage of Astros-Angels can be heard starting at 9:30pm after Lubbock ISD sports on SportsRadio 1340 The Fan.
