Quan Shorts Officially Released from Texas Tech Football Team

Following a second arrest by Lubbock Police over the past six months, Quan Shorts was officially released from his scholarship with the Texas Tech Football team on Monday.

Shorts made the announcement on Twitter on Monday afternoon.  He redshirted the 2015 season and made his debut with Texas Tech in 2016. Last season, as a sophomore, Shorts played in 6 games, had 9 receptions for 109 yards with 2 touchdowns.

Shorts will probably be subject to the usual restrictions for players who transfer from Texas Tech: no transfers to other Division I programs in Texas, no transfers to other Big 12 Conference teams and no transfers to teams on the Texas Tech Football regular season schedule.
