Heavy rainfall hit West Texas Monday and Tuesday, causing flooding, school delays, road closings and disruptions to phones used in Lubbock community centers.

In an Instagram post Tuesday morning (May 5), Lubbock Parks and Recreation revealed that the area's heavy rainfall has resulted in disruptions in phone lines at local community and senior centers. This includes static on the lines, as well as calls that will not go through.

The photo the organization posted (below) is of the playa lake at the community center near Maxey Park.
