The Texas Tech baseball program had another strong semester in the classroom as the Red Raiders had a 3.08 grade-point average as a team. 14 players had better than a 3.30 GPA.

27 student-athletes on the Texas Tech roster were named to the academic honor roll, which is reserved for students with a 3.0 GPA or better. Matt Bernstein, Tyler Floyd, Ryan Long and Braden Williams all recorded perfect 4.0 GPAs which also got them on the President’s List.

“We’re always proud when our student-athletes succeed in the classroom,” Texas Tech head coach Tim Tadlock said. “We really appreciate the Marsha Sharp Center staff for their hard work and we’re fortunate that our student-athletes have great academic resources that are second to none.”

Floyd earned his degree from Texas Tech this past weekend after he wrapped his undergraduate studies with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He was recognized as the highest-ranking graduate in the ESS program.

Ty Damron, Jackson Lancaster, Ryan Moseley and Cory Raley were named to the Dean’s List for posting at least a 3.50 GPA for the semester.

Texas Tech had 19 other student-athletes earn honor roll status as well: Justin Bethard, Tanner Buxton, Michael Davis, Zach Davis, Robert Dugger, Dylan Dusek, Chandler Eden , Cody Farhat, Tyler Fowler, Orlando Garcia, Eric Gutierrez, Hunter Hargrove, Ty Harpenau , Davis Martin, Parker Mushinski, Jonathan Nicholson, Jacob Patterson and Stephen Smith.

The Red Raiders open the 2016 season on Feb. 19 with a four-game series against Wisconsin-Milwaukee inside Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
