Carvalho picked up his fourth straight All-big 12 singles and All-Big 12 doubles selection. He is the first player at Texas Tech to be honored with four straight all-conference selections in singles and doubles. He is also a three-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree, as well as Texas Tech’s only All-American, earning the distinction in 2010.

He is currently 15-7 on the year in singles and ranked No. 79 nationally. Teamed with Escobar, Carvalho is ranked 18th in doubles. Overall he is 16-5 in doubles matches and 11-1 when teamed with Escobar.

Escobar earned his third straight All-Big 12 singles selection and his first career All-Big 12 doubles honor. He is also an Academic All-big 12 honoree. Escobar is the all-time winningiest singles and doubles player in Texas Tech history with a school-record 97 career singles wins and 78 career doubles wins.

Texas Tech returns to action on Saturday in Berkeley, Calif., in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships. The Red Raiders face No. 63 Cal Poly at 11 a.m. CT
