The Texas Tech Red Raiders made it interesting, but they ran away with the first round in the end, beating the SFA Lumberjacks 70-60 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

The 3 seed Red Raiders struggled with the 14 seed Lumberjacks, trailing for most of the game, but Keenan Evans took over late to provide the spark Texas Tech needed.

Evans finished with 23 points, five assists and six boards. Most importantly, Evans was 10-for-10 at the free throw line.

The law firm of Smith and Smith combined for 19 points, 14 boards and four blocks, providing most of the highlight plays from the game.

Texas Tech now moves on to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The game will be played Saturday, March 17 against the winner of the Florida-St. Bonaventure game.
