Texas Tech and former Minnesota Golden Gophers Head Coach Tubby Smith are reportedly in negotiations for Smith to take over the Head Coaching position for the Red Raider Basketball opening.

The Associated Press reported the story on Saturday according to their anonymous sources.

Smith spent six seasons at Minnesota with a 124-81 record and a 46-62 conference record in the Big Ten Conference. Under Smith, Minnesota never finished above 6th place or above a .500 record in conference play.

Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported on Twitter Monday morning that Smith will decide at the end of the day to accept the Head Coaching job at Tech.

Tubby Smith will likely decide by the end of the day whether or not he accepts the head coaching vacancy at Texas Tech, per a source....
