Quarterback continues to be the most unstable position at Texas Tech during Kliff Kingsbury's tenure as head coach.

Saturday evening, news broke that the Red Raiders lost their most high-profile recruit of their 2015 recruiting class.

The college football news/recruiting website, Scout, ranks Stidham as the nation's No. 2 quarterback and No. 17 overall recruit in the 2015 class. Stidham led the Stephenville Yellow Jackets to the playoffs the past two seasons, including a Class 3A State Semifinal game in 2013.

Stidham's decommitment leaves Texas Tech with scholarship quarterbacks Davis Webb and Patrick Mahomes and walk-on Vincent Testaverde, who played one game in 2014, as the main quarterbacks for 2015.

After the 2013 season, quarterbacks Michael Brewer and Baker Mayfield both left Texas Tech after receiving playing time during the 2013 campaign.

The 2015 National Signing Day will be held on Wednesday, February 4.
