Jerry Jones changed his tune to being strongly pro-Garrett after the Cowboys season ended, going from refusing to comment on Garrett to accidentally referring to him as the new hire multiple times while still trying to give lip service to the NFL’s Rooney Rule requiring interviewing minority head coaches. By Robert Snyder Well, the tortured tenure of Wade Phillips as Cowboys Head Coach is finally over. After one playoff victory and horribly inconsistent play spread out over three and-a-half seasons, Jerry Jones has moved on to interim head coach Jason Garrett.  Garrett was named head coach in waiting two years ago and he now gets 8 games to prove himself.
