Rookie Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish has one the fan vote for the final roster spot on the American League All-Star Team. Darvish is 10-5 on the season with a 3.59 ERA.

For Darvish, this is hardly his first all-star team, as he was a member of five all-star squads during his time playing in Japan. Through an interpreter, Darvish said, "I feel very good, I know the way that I got selected was a vote by the fans, so I appreciate all the fans who voted for me. I'm looking forward to it."

Darvish had some fairly stiff competition in his run at the all-star team, beating out Chicago's Jake Peavy, Baltimore's Jason Hammel, Kansas City's Jonathan Broxton and Los Angeles' Ernesto Frieri.

Darvish's selection to the AL All-Star team gives the Rangers a total of 8 members on the team.
