The Texas Rangers beat the Oakland Athletics 5-4 Monday night in Arlington.  Adrian Beltre singled in pinch-runner Craig Gentry for the game winning run after tying the game with a two run homer in the seventh.

Mitch Moreland and Ian Kinsler starting the inning with back to back singles.  Josh Hamilton, who already had a home run in the game, was intentionally walked to load the bases.

Joe Nathan picked up the win for Texas and he improved his record to (3-4) on the season.

With the win, the Rangers now hold a five game lead over the Athletics with five being the magic number being five to clinch the division.

The two teams are back in action tonight to play the second game of the four game series.  Yu Darvish is on the mound for the Rangers while Tommy Milone is on the mound for the Athletics.  First pitch is at 7:05 PM.
