The Texas Rangers (12-16) on Thursday extended their season-high winning streak to four games with a 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays (15-14).

The Rangers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the second inning.

Delino DeShields, Jr. walked with the bases loaded and Kyle Blanks scored the first run of the game. Rays starter, Chris Archer, continued to have control problems as he walked the next hitter after DeShields, Shin-Soo Choo. Choo's walk with the bases loaded scored Carlos Peguero to make the score 2-0.

Elvis Andrus came up after Choo walked and he worked the count to 1-1 before hitting a liner to center. Rougned Odor and DeShields scored on Andrus' single.

The Rangers added one more run in the fourth and that's all they would need.

Alex Claudio picked up the win for Texas as starting pitcher Nick Martinez wasn't able to get through five innings.

The Rangers and Rays play again Friday evening at 6 p.m.
