The Texas Rangers earned a playoff spot after taking one of two games against the Los Angeles Angels.  Texas beat Los Angeles in the nightcap game 8-7.

Mike Napoli had two home runs and drove in six runs to lead Texas to victory.  The Rangers lost the first game 5-4.  With the victory, Texas assured themselves a wild card spot.

Derek Holland picked up the win in the nightcap as his record improves to 12-6 with a 4.69 ERA.

The Rangers have a chance to clinch the division with a win tonight when they take on the Oakland Athletics to wrap up the regular season in a three game road series.  On the mound for the Rangers is Martin Perez, while the Athletics will have Jarrod Parker on the mound.  First pitch is at 9:05 PM.
