Texas Rangers Start ALDS Play This Afternoon
The 2011 MLB Postseason starts today with the Texas Rangers hosting the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series.
Today's Game 1 starts at 4pm and is televised on TBS. The pitching match-up is C.J. Wilson for Texas and Matt Moore for Tampa.
The left-hander Wilson went 16-7 with a 2.94 ERA in a career-high 223 1/3 innings.
In last year's playoffs Wilson threw 6 1/3 shutout innings against Tampa Bay during Game 2 of last year's ALDS at Tropicana Field.
Wilson talked to MLB.com about this year's playoffs, "I got a lot of advice last year from people that have been there and I hadn't been there," Wilson said. "Now that I have been there, I know what to expect. They are going to have the same lineups pretty much they had in the regular season against me. So knowing that, I feel like -- even though we found out [our opponent] at the last minute -- I have all my notes and the video and that stuff to go through and I feel prepared."
